Sectional Door Back in Service Following Impact Damage

Stertil Stokvis engineers have successfully completed a loading bay sectional overhead door repair at a distribution facility, returning the door to safe, reliable operation following impact damage.

The damage was caused by a forklift striking the door, resulting in significant impact to the lower section. On inspection, the bottom door panel was found to be beyond repair and required full replacement.

Stertil Stokvis engineers replaced the damaged door panel with a new section and carried out a wider assessment of associated components.

To ensure the long-term safety and performance of the door, the steel lifting cables were also replaced, as impact damage can cause stretching or internal weakening that may not be immediately visible.

On top of this, safety-critical components were replaced, including the safety brake, along with key door hardware such as wheels, hinges, and carriers. Changing these parts helps ensure the warehouse door operates smoothly and, most importantly, safely - particularly in busy environments where sectional doors are in constant use.
