22 Dock Levellers Upgraded with Specialist Anti-Slip Coating

A busy distribution facility in West London has improved slip resistance across its loading bays following the application of a specialist R12 anti-slip coating to 22 dock levellers by Stertil Stokvis.

With employees, pallet trucks and other equipment regularly crossing the dock levellers during loading and unloading, maintaining safe and effective working surfaces was an important consideration for the site.

Stertil Stokvis applied the specialist R12-rated coating to each dock leveller, providing increased slip resistance across the working surfaces and helping create a more secure environment for employees and equipment.

Before the coating was applied, each dock leveller was thoroughly cleaned and inspected, with the surfaces prepared to ensure the coating could be applied effectively and consistently.

Minimising disruption

As the facility operates a busy loading operation, the work was carefully planned around the site's day-to-day activities.

Following application, the coating required approximately 16 hours before the surfaces could be walked on and 24 hours before machinery could be used. This allowed the work to be scheduled around the curing requirements while keeping disruption to loading operations to a minimum.

With all 22 dock levellers now treated, the facility has improved slip resistance across its loading areas, helping to support safer working conditions for employees and equipment.
